Diamond chain sawing is normally a hand held process, and can be electric, hydraulic or petrol powered. It is ideal in those situations where square openings are required, and whilst reinforced concrete can be cut with the chain saw, it is more suitable for brick and blockwork. It must be water cooled owing to the nature of the chain and arm. In some cases it can be used in conjunction with a circular saws to prevent overcut, and track mounted versions are available.
